Attending an elite class school but having a middle-class family background can cause situations to be a little complex. At least mine was very complexed. I studied into an O & A Levels school. I had rich friends around me. They could spend thousands of rupees in a day. I always had a dream to be like them. I hated myself for being a middle class. I’d lie to them that my parents are settled abroad. I use to steal money so I could attend their parties but it wasn’t a successful decision.

All my parents had, was a handful of money and some expectations from me. They kept the money safely to invest in for my education. My father did two jobs to pay my school fee, but I wasn’t still satisfied. I always complained to God. I lied to my parents that I need some money to get new books; instead, I treated my friends’ at the most expensive restaurant.

Tables turned on the result day. We all failed in our exams. I thought it must be difficult for all of us to face our parents. But no, I was wrong. Everyone was so chilled. Nither they had any pressure from their families. They all had a settled business waiting for them. But I had nothing in my hands. I was all shattered. I never saw my mother crying. But that day, I saw my mother had tears in her eyes. She expected from me, and that was her only fault. I saw my father disheartened. We didn’t have any conversation with my family that day.

Successful Working Tips

Successful

I thought my friends would give me a shoulder to cry on. But they were busy in celebrations. None of them contacted me again. Few moved abroad, few are ruling the business world. I am happy for them.
Since that day, I decided to be very serious in my career. I apologized to my parents and promised them that I’ll take my career seriously. Here I am today, working as a Content Writer at a well know News Channel and Content Director at a Candian based NGO.

My parents are proud of me, and so I am.
So here is a lesson:
Don’t be embarrassed by our family background,
Everyone makes mistakes, there is no big deal it, the deal is when you don’t learn from them it is successful.
