It was 6:00 AM early Sunday morning. The sky was all blue. I often don’t wake up so early. I am not an AM person, but still, I felt like some shook me as if I am in my dream. As I woke up, my eyes were wide open, lying straight on the bed. I could hear birds chirping and feel the cold breeze. I could sense something unusual around me. As if someone was staring me. I felt like I had a bad dream maybe or perhaps I didn’t sleep well at night. Many thoughts were racing in mind. I had a few deadlines to meet, a few quizzes to attempt, and a party to attend in the evening.
Me being over-obsessed with tea, decided to get off my bed and prepare tea and breakfast so I could carry on with my to-do list. I switched on the kitchen lights. Poured water in the saucepan added 2 tbsp. of tea and left it to simmer. In meanwhile, I decided to freshen up.
After 10 minutes I stepped into the kitchen. What I saw, was something very astonishing. The stove was turned off. Although I exactly remember that I had turned on the stove. I ignored and decided to turn on the stove. But now, I couldn’t find a matchstick box. I was frustrated, I furiously started searching for it, I flipped the plates, went through the cabinets, I remembered that I placed it on the slab. But it was not there.
After a moment, I heard someone whispering into my ear, in a very low and echoic pitch: “What are you looking for?” and then, the matchbox slid into my hand. I was frozen, I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe, I wanted to cry but I couldn’t, I could feel someone standing behind me, I didn’t dare to look around. The matchbox was in my hand.
After a moment, it was all sunny. It was not more 6:30 AM. The sky was no longer blue. It was a shiny sunny day. I was standing in my kitchen. Everything felt normal. I couldn’t understand what exactly happened.
Was it a dream? Was I sleeping with open eyes? May be Was it a reality? I still get goosebumps when I think about it, I didn’t dare to stay anymore, I picked up my cell phone and went to my friend’s place. I lived there for a few days and later shifted to my new house, I was so freaked out that I couldn’t sleep at night for a few weeks because of that dream.
