Invasion of ukraine against russia- 2022

An invasion between Russia and Ukraine has just begun. On the command of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia has launched a large-scale military strike on Ukraine, its southern neighbor. There have been reports of strikes on Ukrainian military facilities throughout the country, as well as Russian convoys arriving from all sides.

mr. putin announced a military operation

Mr. Putin has declared a “military action” in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region. Many Russian-speaking Ukrainians live in this area. Since 2014, parts of it have been occupied and administered by Russian-backed rebels.

Mr. Putin stated that Russia was intervening in self-defense. Russia will not occupy Ukraine, he declared but would demilitarise and “de-Nazify” it.

According to Ukraine, tanks and troops have spilled into the country at several sites along its eastern, southern, and northern borders.

Russian military convoys have crossed from Belarus into Ukraine’s northern Chernihiv district, as well as from Russia into Ukraine’s northern Sumy region, according to Ukraine’s border guard agency (DPSU).

Belarus has been a long-standing Russian ally. According to analysts, the small country is Russia’s “client state.”

Twitter accounts sharing Ukraine videos were removed when they were most needed.

Russian-speaking social media users have started adopting the hashtag #нeтвоне, or #notowar, to express their opposition to the invasion of Ukraine.

It had been the top trending hashtag on Russian Twitter about 06:00 GMT, just after Moscow launched its offensive, and had accumulated approximately 112,000 mentions by 15:00 GMT. But after that many of the accounts who were sharing videos of Ukraine were being suspended by the twitter.

ukraine fights back

Ukraine’s military forces claimed to have shot down five Russian planes and a helicopter, which Russia denies, and to have inflicted losses on invading soldiers.

Later that day, however, President Zelensky stated that Ukraine had incurred losses and that several planes and armoured vehicles had been destroyed.
Russia claimed to have destroyed over 70 military targets in Ukraine.
Much of the conflict looks to be concentrated in the country’s east. However, clashes have also occurred in and around Kyiv, as well as the Black Sea port cities of Odesa and Mariupol.

Ukraine has declared martial law, which implies that the military has temporarily taken power. It has severed diplomatic ties with Russia, made guns available to anyone who wants them, and imposed an overnight curfew on Kyiv.

Residents seek refuge

As people depart the city, there are massive traffic bottlenecks on Kyiv’s expressways.

Testimonies on social media indicate a growing sense of terror, with some claiming they are being hustled into bomb shelters and basements. People were seen praying in the streets on television.
