Since my childhood, I have a dilemma. I am always afraid of grave and graveyards. Never know why. I know many people hesitate while going to such places, but for me, I just cannot imagine crossing a road that is near to the graveyard. I am not afraid of darkness, I can live alone, and I am not scared of animals. The only thing that triggers me is the burial place.

It was a fine peaceful night. Stars were shining brighter than usual. I could smell a beautiful fragrance, like that of roses. I was comfortably sleeping under my cozy blanket. Suddenly, I woke up with wide eyes open; perhaps I had a bad dream. I felt like sleeping on a bed of rocks. A very little, congested place. I couldn’t move. It seemed like I was locked beneath the ground. I could smell sand and roses. With all my powder, I tried getting out of the locked place. I made many unsuccessful attempts. After hitting so many times, it made a little crack on the wall above me. I furiously kept hitting it.

Grave is the Darkest Place

My knuckles started to bleed but I didn’t stop. I kept striving with my whole power. I don’t know how long it took, but maybe after half an hour, I made a hole in the wall, I tried getting out of it. But the sharp edges resisted. The sharp edges tore my skin. I was profusely bleeding. But I managed to escape.

As I stepped out, I was in the middle of the grave. A huge dark ground, with many graves, pin-drop silence. I could hear myself breathing. I don’t know how I reached there. Also I was perplexed, confused, terrified. I screamed for help. I started running, kept on running but couldn’t find a corner. My legs were aching. I couldn’t walk more. I was thirsty, sweating, and horrified.

Just I sat down leaning against the trunk. Moon was shining brighter. I closed my eyes for a moment. I felt like a shadow coming closer. As I opened my eyes, it was a huge figure, with bleeding teeth, unusual grown nails, and enraged eyes. I screamed at the top of my lungs. The figure came closer and closer. I tried standing up but I couldn’t feel my legs. I picked up the stones and threw them on the gigantic figure. But it was unaffected and kept coming closer.

Then suddenly, it was all black. I woke up. It was a bad dream. Stars were shining brighter than usual. I could smell the beautiful fragrance, like that of roses. I felt like sleeping on a bed of rocks…
